Agentic settings, Telegram channels and limits
How to open agentic settings, link a Telegram account, add signal channels, let your agentic bots follow them automatically, and control what the AI may do and spend.
Availability: Agentic automation, Telegram signal sources and model comparisons are gated features. They stay off until your plan, your account and the platform launch gates all allow them, and a gated tab may accept input while every save is refused. Your dashboard is the source of truth for what your account can actually use today.
Agentic settings live at Dashboard → Settings → Agentic. The page holds the account-wide defaults that every agentic bot runs on. Saving a change renews the running bots' automation snapshot for you; a live bot is renewed only when the change does not increase its risk.
What each tab controls

Before you start
- A plan that includes agentic automation, and the agentic feature enabled for your account.
- A connected exchange with trade permission and no withdrawal permission. See Connect an exchange.
- At least one stored AI provider key. Every analysis and every channel interpretation is billed to that provider account, not to BotTradesForYou.
- An agentic bot. Strategy, copy and agentic modes are mutually exclusive, so an agentic bot is always a dedicated bot.
Trading defaults arrive prefilled (paper mode, automatic execution, research plus Telegram, 100 quote units of capital, a 10 quote-unit monthly AI allowance). You can save them as they are.
Add a Telegram channel
The Telegram tab reads channels through your own Telegram account, not through a bot token. It joins nothing and posts nothing — it only reads what your account can already see.
1. Link your Telegram account
Register an application on Telegram's own developer portal at my.telegram.org to obtain an API ID and an API hash, then enter both in the Telegram tab and pick a login method.
- QR code — open Telegram, go to Settings → Devices → Link Desktop Device, and scan the code shown. This is the same device-link flow you would use for Telegram Desktop.
- Phone and login code — enter your number in international format, then the code Telegram sends you. If your account has two-factor protection, you are asked for that password next.
Your API ID and API hash are stored encrypted. Login codes, passwords and session data are never shown back to you and never appear in History. One Telegram account can be linked per BotTradesForYou account.
2. Join the channel in Telegram first
Your account has to already be a member of the channel. Open the channel in your own Telegram app and join it before adding it here.
3. Add the channel link
Paste the channel into Telegram channel link and select Add channel. Three forms are accepted:
- A public link such as

@examplechannelorexamplechannel - A numeric channel id beginning with
-100
Private invite links are not accepted. Links of the form https://t.me/+AbCdEf or https://t.me/joinchat/AbCdEf are rejected, because they are join requests rather than references to a channel your account already reads. For a private channel, join it in Telegram first and then add it by its numeric id.
The target has to be a broadcast channel that your account belongs to. A direct chat, a plain group, or a channel you have not joined is refused.
4. Your bots follow it automatically
Every agentic bot you own follows every channel you add, on paper and live alike. Nothing needs to be re-armed: when you set up a bot, the single consent click already covers Telegram automation, and bots you armed earlier were moved onto that consent for you — the Telegram tab shows "Telegram automation was enabled on … using the consent you gave on …" for each of them. If a bot was holding positions at the time, its upgrade waits until it is flat and the readiness panel says so.
Under each channel you can still choose which bots follow it (all, selected or none) and exclude a bot explicitly; an exclusion survives every later change. A bot acts on a channel only while the bot is running and the channel is not paused.
What the bots do with a post
Every post is read once and then applied to each following bot according to that bot's own position. A bot that does not hold the symbol never sells anything on its behalf.

A research cycle is the same AI analysis a bot runs on its own schedule, scoped to that one symbol; the AI decides open or hold under the bot's normal risk rules. A post edited after it ran is not re-applied, and a listed history of past take-profits is never turned into new sells.
Execution modes
The Execution mode in Trading Defaults decides how much of this happens without you:
- Automatic (AI) — the default. Posts are interpreted by your text-review model and every resolved step runs on its own. If no text-review model can be resolved for your keys, the bot falls back to strict signals only.
- Strict signals only — no AI is involved. Only posts written in the strict signal format act; everything else is ignored.
- Approve every action — posts are interpreted, and the resolved steps for each bot wait in History until you confirm them. The steps are re-checked against the bot's live positions when they run.
In every mode the History tab shows, per bot, the steps that were resolved from a post and the outcome of each action.
Connection gaps
Only messages that arrive after a channel is added are read. History is never backfilled.
When the reader restarts, reconnects or detects that it missed messages, the account is briefly blocked while continuity is verified, then acknowledged automatically. Each gap window is listed in the Telegram tab with its reason and whether the platform or you acknowledged it. Messages received inside a gap are kept for review but are never traded — a bot cannot wake up and act on a backlog.
If you prefer to look at every gap yourself, switch Automatic gap resume off; the Resume future messages button then returns. A reader fault or a disconnected account always waits for you.
Models and cost
The Models tab maps each role — research, text review, vision and transcription — to a provider and model you have a key for. When a role is left on its default, the platform picks the cheapest reliable model of the first provider you have a key for, with reasoning switched off on every call:

Voice transcription resolves only with an OpenAI key (gpt-transcribe). Automated cycles carry no platform analysis quota, but "no quota" does not mean free: every attempt, including fallbacks between models, is billed by your provider directly. Review each provider's pricing, retention and privacy terms before selecting it.
AI allowance (per month) caps what your bots may spend on AI per calendar month (UTC). Once it is reached, research and channel interpretation pause until the next month or until you raise the allowance; the readiness panel names it as the next action.
Trading defaults
These values apply to every agentic bot and are renewed into running bots when you save:
- Paper or live. See Paper trading and live trading.
- Signal source — research, Telegram, or both (the default).
- Execution mode — see above.
- Allocated capital and risk per position, within the platform's own hard ceilings. Your values can be tighter than the platform limits but never looser. Those ceilings are listed in Autonomous agentic bots.
- Minimum net profit and AI allowance, so a trade must be expected to clear its own costs.
History and retention
History records settings changes, source events, each bot's resolved steps and their outcomes. Raw message payloads are encrypted, kept for up to seven days so you can review them, then blanked. Authorization to fetch channel media expires within a day. Credentials, login codes and two-factor passwords are never recorded.

Troubleshooting
